MAYBE THE START OF THE SECOND BIRD SERIES

This is the last bird that I've completed. It is a lilac breasted roller. Now I'm loking for a new format to the next chapter of the Bird Series, and this is a first model. I'm not decided yet, so I can´t say wether this will be the first issue of the Second Bird series or not. Anyway I'm plenty satisfied of the painting, although I think that maybe it is a bit away from the model established by the 19th-century illustrators.

Este es el último pájaro que he terminado. Se trata de una carraca lila. En este momento estoy buscando un nuevo formato para el siguiente capítulo de la Serie de las Aves, y esta es la primera prueba. Todavía no estoy seguro, por lo que no puedo decir si esta pintura va a ser la primera entrega de la Segunda Serie de Aves o no. En cualquier caso estoy completamente satisfecho del resultado, aunque pienso que quizá me he separado un poco del modelo establecido por los ilustradores decimonónicos.

With this work I close the first chapter of the Bird Series. Of course there will be more, but I need a period of reflection and perhaps I will make a few changes. I'll see.

Thanks to people like him, those who love nature can enjoy memorable images. Nigel has also published a book that collects his experiences and photographies of birds in Gambia (The Gambia, a brief birdwatching guide). A little gem that will surely delight birdwatching enthusiasts.

Con este trabajo cierro el primer capítulo de la serie. Por supuesto habrá más, pero ahora necesito un período de reflexión y quizá haga algunos cambios. Ya veré.
